“A Change Is Gonna Come” was recorded in January 1964 and was included on Cooke’s 1964 studio album Ain’t That Good News. Its single release didn’t come until two weeks after Cooke’s death in December 1964, when it was released as the B-Side to the Billboard Top 10 single “Shake.”
To celebrate 60 years of this influential song, a limited edition 7” single on White Iridescent vinyl, featuring original mono single mixes of both “A Change Is Gonna Come” and “Shake” is being released for RSD Black Friday. "

This 110-minute concert performance from the legendary Allman Brothers Band guitarist was recorded at the Calderone Concert Hall on Long Island, New York on August 11, 1978. The show features thirteen tracks including the ABB classics “Jessica”, Southbound”, “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed”, “Blue Sky” and “Ramblin Man” along with tracks from the 1977 album from his band, Great Southern.
The live performance was previously released digitally and on CD in 2017, but this triple LP set will be packaged in a gatefold sleeve with new liner notes and photos.

On their first international tour, in May of 1982, Americana music legends The Blasters were recorded at the Venue in London England. Six of those tracks were released on Slash Records as a 12” EP later that year. Four more tracks were uncovered and included on the Rhino/Warner Bros anthology album Testament in 1997. As part of a new catalog deal for the Blasters recordings with Liberation Hall, the label has uncovered the thirteen remaining tracks and is releasing the complete concert.
The show found The Blasters firing on all cylinders as they were taking off in London, after Shakin Stevens’ version of the Dave Alvin-written “Marie Marie” hit the top 20 of the UK charts. It is quintessential listening, and a magical music moment uncovered for any fan of the band.

The limited-edition 180g 2 x LP set contains audio from the Sun Ra Archives, and was researched and compiled by Sun Ra archivist Michael D. Anderson. Mastering by engineer Joe Lizzi and lacquers cut by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab. The critically acclaimed independent filmmaker Robert Mugge has also provided audio from the recordings he made at the Left Bank, featured in his 1980 film Sun Ra: A Joyful Noise.

Charles Tolliver was born in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1942 and moved with his family to New York City when he was 10. During his childhood, his grandmother gave him his first horn, a cornet he had coveted. Tolliver was attending Howard University in the early 1960s as a pharmacy major when he decided to pursue music as a career and returned home to New York City. He came to prominence in 1964, playing and recording on Jackie McLean's Blue Note albums. In 1971, Tolliver and Stanley Cowell founded Strata-East Records, and Tolliver released many albums and collaborations on Strata-East.
Live at Captain's Cabin is a newly discovered gem from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that finds Music Inc in fine form at a club called the Captain's Cabin. Playing mostly original music from Tolliver, the band lets loose in the live setting. In his words "The players I had--John Hicks, Clint Houston and Cliff Barbaro --I just let them go do their thing and I didn't rein them in, so we could have some pretty wild renditions of things, which if I were to do it now with a different rhythm section, it would sound different. It would be different. But I think that fifty-something years ago that we were just expressing the exuberance of playing together and being on the road and the songs that I composed at that time, a few of them I still play, are completely different."
This recording is an incredible document from an amazing band that was continually pushing boundaries. A previously unissued live recording from 1973, mastered by Kevin Gray of Cohearent Audio with audio transferred from the original tape reels. This 180g double LP comes with an extensive booklet of rare photos, an interview with Charles Tolliver by Jeremy Pelt, an essay by renowned writer Angelika Beener and more.

Fifteen years after releasing two exceptional postpunk-meets-shoegaze-meets-dream pop albums on Caroline Records, New York-based outfit Springhouse (Mitch Friedland, Larry Heinemann, Jack Rabid) reconvened to record a third album, From Now to OK, co-released on CD with Independent Project Records in 2008.
Now appearing for the very first time on vinyl, the record captures the three-piece exploring a more acoustic, folk rock-indebted sound: still showing their trademark flair for dreamy melodic textures, the ever-Anglophile Springhouse can be heard embracing the late ‘60s influence of Nick Drake and The Beatles.
This newly-expanded edition of From Now to OK comes with a bonus CD of previously unreleased demos and live recordings. Preserved in a beautiful package from master designer Bruce Licher, this custom-cut metallic ink jacket, with super-limited transparent Coke Bottle Green vinyl (200 copies for RSD Black Friday), is sure to be a collector's highlight.

Featuring a collaboration between Texas post-rock band Explosions in the Sky and film composer Steve Jablonsky, who scored the Transformers movies and director Peter Berg's last film, Battleship, the original score for Lone Survivor splits the difference between the plaintive and the pounding. The score sets the mood for a film, based on the book of the same name, about a Navy SEAL mission that goes bad for a team working behind enemy lines, and it beautifully evokes the anxiety and intensity of the onscreen action.
