Both trippier and mellower than its predecessor, Sound Of Silver the album references late 70's bands like the Talking Heads and David Bowie yet retains LCD Soundsystem's signature cutting edge production aesthetic. Here - repetitive percussion, towering walls of sound, driven melodies, lyrical hooks and occasional abstract and detailed string orchestration combine to create a sound like no other.

Still-influential DFA honcho James Murphy drives his disco-punk coupe even deeper into Irony City. Will there be anything as spot-on snarky as "Losing My Edge," or bizarre as the 45-minute track he recorded specifically for Nike to soundtrack long-distance runs? Odds are the unpredictable Murphy manages to equal'"if not top'"himself.
