More Info:
The Fugs were founded in late 1964 at the Peace Eye Bookstore in the Lower East Side of New York City. The Fugs performed off-Broadway and in concert halls in the United States and Europe throughout the rest of the 1960s, and then after a hiatus to get their heads together, founders Ed Sanders and Tuli Kupferberg began almost yearly reunion concerts beginning in 1984, and continuing to this day. The Fugs, with their combinations of poetry, rock, satire, manifestoes, folk anthems, anti-war anarcho-socialdemocratic- hasidic-hankwilliams songs have placed themselves in the forefront of forward-thinking American and World music. Fugs founders Sanders and Kupferberg have had, for the last 21 years, an excellent band consisting of Steve Taylor on vocals and guitars, Coby Batty on vocals and percussion, and Scott Petito on bass, strings, guitars. Our albums and CDs have been recorded at Petito's NRS Studios.
