Detroit underground rap staple Quelle Chris will be releasing his new album "Deathfame" on 12/2. It features appearances by Navy Blue, Pink Siifu, Denmark Vessey, Cavalier, J Jig Cicero, and Moruf, and was largely produced by Quelle Chris himself, with contributions from Chris Keys on multiple tracks and Knxwledge on one track.
It’s been over five years since White Lung released any new material. After their explosive break-out album in 2014, Deep Fantasy, and the critically acclaimed follow-up, Paradise, the punk band have taken a long yet unintentional hiatus. Now, singer Mish Barber-Way, guitarist Kenneth William, and drummer Anne-Marie Vassiliou are back with their latest release, Premonition. The band returned to their long-time producer Jesse Gander (Japandroids, Brutus) to bring out the primal and anthemic punk rock the band built their following on. Chaotic, bold, and hook-driven, Premonition is a whirlwind of driving drums, intricate guitar work, and no-holds-barred lyrics about motherhood, pregnancy, and growth.
On July 1, his birthday, Sufjan Stevens is releasing two alternate versions of his song, “Fourth of July”.
Both versions were recorded around 2014: “Fourth of July (April Base Version)” was recorded in Eau Claire, WI at Justin Vernon’s April Base studio, and “Fourth of July (DUMBO Version)” was recorded in Sufjan’s old studio in Brooklyn, NY.
The original version of “Fourth of July” appeared on Sufjan’s 2015 album, Carrie & Lowell. As is (and was) his custom, Sufjan would often rework different versions of his songs while recording an album, and “Fourth of July” was no exception. (Other versions & remixes of the song were released on “The Greatest Gift” mixtape and on the “Exploding Whale” 7” single.)
These two latest versions were recently found on old hard drives. The refrain of the song, “We’re all gonna die,” invokes a meditation on human mortality and fragility, even as it acts as an anchor of stoic hope. Its solemnity invites listeners to feel comfort, connection — even joy — wrought from great pain and loss.
The song has recently had a resurgence with listeners — which may speak to a deep national grief and sense of loss.
This 7-inch in red will ship in December 2022, which marks the 10-year anniversary of Carrie’s death.
Thirty years in the making, the Backstreet Boys are back with their first ever holiday album “A Very Backstreet Christmas”! Features classics like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas”, “Last Christmas”, “Silent Night” and new future holiday mainstays like “Christmas In New York,” “Together,” and “Happy Days.”
Celebrating 30 years of global hits, High Times: The Singles 1992-2006 will be made available on vinyl for the first time including the single ‘You Give Me Something’ omitted from the CD release. The “standard” vinyl format includes a double heavyweight 180g black vinyl, a gatefold sleeve and printed inner sleeves.
BTS member Jin Is releasing a brand-new single titled “The Astronaut.” As a follow up to his Billboard-charting song “Moon,” Jin partnered with Coldplay for the song production. This release will be available in two versions. Contents include a CD, Outcover, Booklet (84 pages), Lyric Card, Folded Poster, Postcard, Seal Sticker (random 2 of 8), Graphic Sticker, and Photo Card (random 1 of 2). Product Dimensions: 150 x 150 x 20 mm.

20th Anniversary Edition of the Grammy Award Winning album by the King of Rock ‘n’ Soul - the great Solomon Burke. Newly mastered and includes the bonus track “I Need A Holiday”. The newly packaged booklet includes exclusive photos from the recording session and new liner notes.
Recorded live in the studio in a raw, organic style by Joe Henry, the album features new compositions by writers and artists including Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil, Nick Lowe, Brian Wilson, Joe Henry and Dan Penn, all of whom credit Solomon with deeply influencing their work. None of these songs have ever been released commercially before now, and Solomon makes each of them his own with his dynamic delivery.
Supercell’s Live Vol. 1 encapsulates the adventurous spirit of the trio, letting the music develop naturally. Original compositions sit comfortably alongside standards and modern pop tunes, a mixture of intricate arrangements and spontaneous explorations. Playing for a supportive audience at an artist-friendly space, Adam Meckler, Brian Courage and Andrew Green dig into a wide dynamic range, reaching a quiet vulnerability that one might not expect to hear from a chordless trumpet trio.

The new Micah P. Hinson album comes up from five days and five nights of recording in a room of naked to the bone in Irpinia, South Italy and from a very accurate diamond-polishing production by Alessandro "Asso" Stefana (PJ Harvey, Mike Patton, Vinicio Capossela...). As beautiful as an army with banners have also come to side with Micah and Asso the Raffaele Tiseo's celestial strings, the Zeno De Rossi metaphysic drumming and the double bass gentleman Greg Cohen.
Everything Returns reunites the original Black Ox Orkestar lineup following a 15-year hiatus. Arising from the fertile Montréal post-punk agit-prop scene of the early 2000s, the band comprises Scott Gilmore, Jessica Moss and Thierry Amar of Thee Silver Mt. Zion (Amar also continues to compose and play bass for Godspeed You! Black Emperor) and Gabriel Levine of Sackville. Black Ox made two acclaimed albums of roiling acoustic avant-folk in the mid-2000s, exploring Eastern European and North African folkways through the lens of a gritty, resonant indie rock sensibility, juxtaposing interpretations of instrumentals from various Jewish, Romani and Arabic traditions with originals led by Gilmore’s politically-charged Yiddish vocals. These early albums have since become lodestars for many among a new generation of Yiddish, Klezmer and radical Jewish diasporic music practitioners and fans.
First revealing its resurrection in February 2022 with a surprise flexi 7” single issued by left journal Jewish Currents as a gift to its thousands of subscribers, Black Ox has indeed fully and fruitfully reunited. Exquisitely recorded by Greg Norman (Jason Molina, Nina Nastasia, Electrical Audio), Everything Returnspicks up right where the band left off: an incisively atmospheric, melancholic yet resolute album of uniquely modern Jewish folk music, with piano, violin, upright bass, clarinet and cymbalom making up the core instrumentation, and the vocal tunes sung primarily in Yiddish, alongside album centerpiece “Viderkol” and closer “Lamed-Vovnik” where English also features.
This is not fusion music, but diaspora music: a cross-cultural call and response of musical lexicons, emerging from the history of Jewish persecution and displacement, the musicology of 19th century repertoire from Jewish shtetls, the improvisational traditions of nusakh in Jewish music and taqsimin Arabic music, and a wider polyglot dialogue of Jewish, Slavic, Arabic, and Central Asian musical traditions. Lyrically and stylistically, Everything Returns connects key current issues—from refugees forced to leave their homes, to the return of fascism and exclusionary nationalism—with the legacy of modernist Yiddish poetry and song.
The new Black Ox Orkestar album is a sublime, poetic, politically-informed statement of re-energized diasporic musical intent, where Gilmore’s voice and the band’s simmering arrangements conjure an ardent, doleful balladry that echoes the sound and sensibility of artists like Tindersticks, The National, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen. Everything Returns is a haunting, richly textured, darkly sparkling song cycle at once from a vanished world and very much of our time and place. Thanks for listening.
From their earliest self-released EPs to 2021’s Cast-Iron Pansexual—the album that earned praise from Rolling Stone and American Songwriter for its examination of faith, sexual identity, and self-acceptance—Adeem the Artist has continued to build a following by blending Appalachian musical influences and poetic flair with a healthy dose of comedic instinct.
"Humor has always been a part of my life," explains the Eastern Tennessee-based songwriter, citing comedians Andy Kaufman and Sarah Silverman as artistic influences in addition to musicians like John Prine and Blind Boy Fuller. Growing up, first in North Carolina and later in Syracuse, New York, Adeem quickly realized that with the right delivery, dark jokes could offer a socially acceptable way to open up about the tough stuff. "My parents are both from a lot of generational trauma, and I was born right at the heart of it,” they say. “Humor is just how we survived."
Adeem’s twang-studded gospel represents a worldview too often excluded from modern country music, one that converts shame into celebration. It turns out, folks like the sound of embracing the parts of ourselves we’re told to bury—so much so that when Adeem turned to fans to support the follow-up album to Cast-Iron Pansexual, thousands obliged. Dubbing it a “redneck fundraiser,” the seventh-generation Carolinian raised the money to release White Trash Revelry by asking for one dollar at a time through social media. “With four quarters and a Venmo,” they joked, “baby, you can make this dream come true.” Adeem emerged from the fundraiser $15,000 later with a name for their new record label—Four Quarters Records—and the resolve to write an unapologetic next chapter.
White Trash Revelry delivers, tempering Adeem’s beloved comedic sensibilities with vulnerable moments and highly specific personal details. Tender strings and clear vocals on "Middle of a Heart" give way to nuanced storytelling about small-town rites of passage and mixed messages about love, violence, and honor. And "Heritage of Arrogance" tackles larger societal issues, struggling to reconcile open-minded intentions with the deeply flawed and historical narratives too often peddled by white Southerners. But the album’s namesake revelry is around every corner, too.
"They play country songs in heaven, but in hell we play ‘em loud," they sing on the standout single “Going to Hell.” Regardless of your thoughts on the afterlife, Adeem sings with an easy-going charisma that makes it easy to want to follow them—to heaven, to hell, or to some raucous, welcoming party in between.

100% GALCHER was by all accounts a game-changer when it landed in 2013 as an hour of original music from a relatively unknown producer ushered in by the beloved mix series Blowing Up The Workshop. Galcher Lustwerk’s signature sound— a smoky stream-of-consciousness baritone shadow-boxing with beats, informedby funk, rap, rhythm, and blues — felt like an epiphany, impossibly hypnotic andcomplete. Resident Advisor writes, “100% GALCHER laid out a louche, lysergic and resolutely black take on deep house.” Pitchfork remembers the music’s immediate impact: “It’s the sort of gem you felt inclined to pass around” — and by year-endlist time, word-of-mouth intensified. It was Resident Advisor and Juno’s mix of the year, and earned a top-ten placement in FACT Magazine’s albums list, as well as Philip Sherburne’s personal rundown for Spin.” Since then, select songs from 100% GALCHER have seen small-run pressings, while the album has lived primarily on SoundCloud and YouTube as a low-key cult legend. The gateway into Lustwerk’s now well-established catalog, known for its reliability as a late-night listen and its prophetic vision for the near future of underground dance music. RA would latername it a mix of the decade, citing its influence and imagination: “Original in every sense — unknown, unheard and unbelievably good.” In late 2022, marking ten years since he first recorded the material, Lustwerk returns to Ghostly International to release 100% GALCHER as a remastered limited-edition double LP.
Pop in your earpiece, close your eyes and embrace the wonders (and horrors) of augmented reality and prepare to travel 500 years into the future as Richard Dawson returns with…The Ruby Cord. These seven tracks plunge us into an unreal, fantastical and at times sinister future where social mores have mutated, ethical and physical boundaries have evaporated; a place where you no longer need to engage with anyone but yourself and your own imagination. It’s a leap into a future that is well within reach, in some cases already here.?

The nine songs that comprise You Become The Mountain are heavily inspired by the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, meditation, long-distance running and Silverstein’s work as a special education teacher. Expanding on the minimalist approach heard on How on Earth, Silverstein invited pedal-steelist Barry Walker Jr. (North Americans, Rose City Band) and bassist Alex Chapman (Parson Redheads, Evan Thomas Way) to round-out an increasingly meditative sound. Led by the spirit of late Detroit musician Ted Lucas, Silverstein was moved to create an album featuring both instrumental and lyric-based compositions. Silverstein casts a wide net in 40 minutes, offering fans of both traditional and experimental folk entry points into his universe. Primarily tracked live and void of heavily processed sounds, the LP serves as a proper introduction to a songwriter who celebrates patience and restraint in the highest regard.
Peace and Love, Inc, the fourth album from Information Society is celebrating it's 30th anniversary, which was initially released on October 26, 1992. The track "300bps N, 8, 1 (Terminal Mode Or Ascii Download)" is actually a text file encoded as modem tones. When decoded, the content is a tale by Kurt Harland about a bizarre but purportedly true event that took place when the band was playing in the city of Curitiba, Brazil. The title track, which hit #10 on the Dance Chart, takes aim at corporate culture and blind conformity but the band envisions themselves as one that sells peace, love and truth.
