About This Release

Recorded during a tumultuous 2005, Eyes Open is the work of a band that has scaled the heights --supporting U2 through Europe, appearing at Live 8 in both Hyde Park and Scotland -- but somehow stuck to their core values: beautiful powerful songs underscored by some of the most poignant and telling lyrics in rock.

Despite some clever maths on the part of Gary Lightbody and the rest of these smooth Irishmen, the mass market wasnt quite convinced that Sebadoh + My Bloody Valentine = Coldplay on 2004s Final Straw. So producer Garrett Lee brings on the arty experimentation, the full choirs, and Martha Wainwright.
