Shannon Slaughter & County Clare is a band that believes in great singing and harmony..... They can vary between high-energy, driving bluegrass to traditional style country duets. County Clare mixes in fresh, original material that is written primarily by Slaughter (winner of the prestigious 2012 Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at MerleFest) and recognizable bluegrass and traditional country favorites. County Clare features an immensely talented core group of musicians and singers. Members are --- Shannon Slaughter on guitar and vocals; his wife Heather Slaughter on bass and vocals; John Boulware on fiddle and vocals; Ron Inscore on mandolin and vocals; and Casey Murray on banjo. They have recorded and performed with some of the best in the bluegrass business, calling as former employers the likes of the Lonesome River Band, the Boxcars, Lou Reid and Carolina, Mountain Heart, Larry Stephenson, and the Kenny and Amanda Smith Band.
