''The Love Album'' is the eighth album and first cover album by boy band Westlife from the Republic of Ireland and it was released on November 20, 2006 worldwide. The album was released in the Philippines a week before its official date of release, November 13, 2006. The songs on the album centers around the theme of "love". During their Face To Face Tour, they had performed "The Dance" on some tour venues and was later said that it will be included on the upcoming album and will be the first single off this album but was later changed to "The Rose". The first and only single released was "The Rose", originally by Bette Midler, and it debuted at #1 in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. It marks as their 14th #1 single in UK tying with Cliff Richard holding the prestigious title as the third artist with most #1 singles in UK. The song was first exclusively performed in the Miss World 2006. The said single includes "If", "Solitaire" and "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" as B-sides and as the other released tracks in this era. This songs were later included on the Deluxe edition of the album. The album debuted on its peak position at #1 on the UK Charts, selling 219,662 copies in the UK that week alone, beating other compilation albums from strong competitors such as Oasis' ''Stop the Clocks'', The Beatles' ''Love'' album and U2's ''U218 Singles''.

''The Love Album'' has sold more than 1,000,000 copies in the UK alone and has achieved 10x Platinum status in the Republic of Ireland and 4x Platinum in UK, making it as a big hit for them and for Sony BMG. The album was the 8th best selling of 2006 in the UK. The album is currently the twenty first biggest selling boyband record of all time in the UK. The song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" was initially planned as the second single but its release was later scrapped. It gained airplay in the Philippines and peaked at the top 5 in a radio station. "All Out of Love" (duet with Delta Goodrem) and "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You" were later released as radio promotional singles in The Philippines. "You Light Up My Life" and "All or Nothing" also charted on UK Downloads Chart. A two-disc Asian Deluxe Edition of The Love Album was released in Asia. March 19, 2007 in the Philippines and Hong Kong and March 23, 2007 in South Korea.
